DTS Introduces new DTS-ECP Expandable Cinema Processor
World-class solution for theaters on the road to digital

AGOURA HILLS, CA - October 10, 2000 - DTS (Digital Theater Systems) today unveiled the new DTS-ECP Expandable Cinema Processor, a world-class solution for theaters on the road to digital sound. The new DTS-ECP gives theaters a first step toward digital audio, providing superior sound playback with a full-featured analog cinema processor. The DTS-ECP can be easily upgraded to deliver DTS Digital Sound playback through the addition of a DTS-DPP Digital Processing Package.

The DTS-ECP delivers precise reproduction of analog sound sources. For maximum reliability, all processing is done on three plug-in boards, with separate power supplies for digital boards and analog boards. The analog supply also provides power when in the bypass mode and an optional external power supply connection is available. An external 6-track analog input is standard for connecting multi-track sources.

"Digital technology is no longer the future, it's here and now. With the introduction of our new ECP Expandable Cinema Processor, we are helping exhibitors who can't afford to immediately upgrade their systems to at least take a giant step toward digital sound," said Andrea Nee, vice president and general manager, DTS Cinema Group. "Because DTS technology is so remarkable and flexible, we are able provide a one-stop solution for a variety of theatrical applications."
