HP India, Avid Deliver Educational PC

Hewlett-Packard India and Avid Technology have teamed up to provide an educational pre-bundled PC for the media educational sector. The bundled solution is configured on the latest HP XW 4600 workstation and has Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.00 4MB/ 1333 CPU, 4 GB RAM, Quadro FX570 256MB PCIe Graphics. It is shipped with Avid Media Composer software.

The bundled product is aimed at educational institutes offering professional and vocational courses in mass media and students pursuing such courses. The solution can store over 15 hours of DV25 video and is currently available at a special promotional price.

Elucidating upon the agreement, Krishan Sanghi, country head, Avid Technology, said, "This agreement is a major step in our efforts to provide students the latest in technology at affordable prices and address the gap in their skill set vis-à-vis industry standard products. With this agreement, we aim to provide wider access to technology, resulting in more skilled media students ready to soar in their professional fields."
