Then, fret not, for here’s a competition that can help you not only win cash prizes but also ensure theatrical screenings for your short film. What’s more, it can also help you win an internship with Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.
Yes, if you are someone who has a compelling story to tell and has always been interested in making short films, then this is one competition you cannot afford to miss.
On Wednesday, actor Suriya, directors Jayendra, P C Sreeram, K V Anand and S U Arun Kumar launched First Clap, India’s first theatrically showcased talent hunt for aspiring filmmakers.
The short film competition, which began on December 14 and which will end on the midnight of January 16, will require one to tell a compelling story through a short film that has a duration of not more than three minutes Those interested in participating in the competition can register on Moviebuff.com. The top five shortlisted films, based on feedback from industry experts and audience voting, will be screened for a period of five weeks across 70 theatres in the Qube Cinema Network. During this time, the public will be asked to vote to decide the ranks of these top five films.
The top three contestants will win cash prizes. While the winner will take home a prize money of Rs Three lakhs, the first runner-up will get Rs Two lakh and the second runner-up will win a lakh. The winner will get an opportunity to narrate their script to 2D Entertainment and an opportunity to intern at 2D Entertainment as well!
The contest has been organised by Moviebuff in association with Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Agaram Foundation and Littleshows.com.
At the event to lunch the contest, the works of some successful short filmmakers like Amar Ramesh and Hari Vishwanath too were screened.
